How Face Search Works

When photos are uploaded to an event, our AI automatically:

1. Detects faces in each photo
2. Groups similar faces together into clusters
3. Creates a "People" tab in the gallery showing each person

This means you can find all photos of a specific person with just one click — no manual tagging needed.

Using Face Search as a Guest

Find Photos of Yourself

1. Open the event gallery
2. Tap "Find My Photos" (the selfie button)
3. Take a selfie or upload a photo of yourself
4. The AI matches your face against all photos in the event
5. See all photos you appear in, instantly

This is perfect for large events like weddings where hundreds of photos are taken — instead of scrolling through everything, find exactly the photos you're in.

Using Face Search as a Host

People Tab

As a host (photographer or event organiser), you have access to the People tab in your event gallery. This shows:

• All detected face clusters
• The number of photos each person appears in
• The ability to browse photos grouped by person

Face Clusters

The AI automatically groups faces, so you can:

• Click on a person's face cluster to see all their photos
• Quickly find photos of specific guests
• Download all photos of a particular person

How accurate is the face recognition?

The AI is highly accurate for clear, well-lit photos. It works best with:

• Front-facing or slightly angled photos
• Good lighting conditions
• Faces that are reasonably sized in the frame

Group photos, low-light shots, and heavily obscured faces may not be matched as accurately.

How long does face processing take?

Face detection and grouping happens automatically after upload. For most events, processing completes within a few minutes. Larger events with thousands of photos may take longer.

Is my selfie stored?

When you use "Find My Photos", your selfie is used only for the matching process and is not permanently stored or added to the event gallery.

Can I use face search without uploading a selfie?

Yes — if you're the host, you can browse the People tab to see all detected face clusters. As a guest, the selfie match is the primary way to find your photos quickly.

What about privacy?

Face recognition data is used solely within the context of the event. Face clusters are tied to the event and are not shared across events or with third parties. When an event is deleted, all associated face data is removed. See our privacy policy for full details.
